Reaching our idyllic dairy farm on Camano Island is a breeze, and no ferry is required!

Follow these easy steps:
  • From Seattle: Head north on I-5.
  • Take Exit 212: Turn left onto WA-532 W/Stanwood Bryant Road toward Stanwood/Camano Island.
  • Continue Straight: Follow WA-532 W through Stanwood, crossing the bridge onto Camano Island.
  • On the Island: Continue on WA-532 W until you reach the island's main intersection. Follow the signs to our farm.

How it all started

A Journey Of Passion and Opportunity
JUSTIN AND ROWEN MEET TILLY

Our story begins with the seasoned entrepreneurial spirit of our founder, who spent his childhood on dairy farms, immersed in the rhythms of farm life. After years of building successful businesses in various fields, he met Miss Tilly in 2022. Their meeting sparked a wave of nostalgia, bringing back fond memories of his dairy farm upbringing.

Inspired by these memories and blessed with perfect timing, he saw the opportunity to expand their homestead. This expansion wasn't just about growing their business; it was about creating a sanctuary for their growing family and reconnecting with the values of hard work, sustainability, and community that he cherished from his youth.

With a deep-rooted passion for dairy farming and a commitment to producing the highest quality products, Camano Creamery was born. Our farm now thrives, balancing the demands of a bustling household, multiple businesses, and a dedicated approach to sustainable dairy farming. This journey has been a labor of love, transforming fond memories into a thriving enterprise that continues to grow and flourish.

6 Generations of Farms, Fairs, and Cows.

For generations, dating back to 1800's, the enduring family traditions of dairy farming and tending to cows have held a significance that surpasses that of the current Camano Creamery farm.

Our History

1889 - Ole Fjarlie, Heimdel Farms
Ole Fjarlie, who immigrated Norway in 1889, founding Heimdal Farms,  between Silvana fairgrounds and Stanwood, WA

1938 - Harold Fjarlie, Ole's Son
Harold Fjarlie, took over in 1939 and passed ownership on to Oran in 1960.
1960 - Oran and Judy Fjarlie
Oran and Judy, his wife, raised their three children, Jane, Jule and John, on the farm before selling the cows and the farm in 1989.
1989 - Dairy Farm Sold
Louie Stangeland currently manages a dairy farm and serves as a local multi-site community dairy owner.
2021 - New Dairy Farm,
Camano Creamery
Justin Seckel, son of Julie (Fjarlie) Seckel, meets Tilly, buys farm and gets the whole family business.

Alongside the cows and running several businesses, the Seckel household includes Bey the Lab and Berry the Farm Kat, as well as the children.
2023 - Rowen Seckel, Silvanva Fair
Tradition is reignited and reimagined as Rowen and Justin expand all farm operations with incredible care for the growing herd.
History of Silvana Fair Fjarlie-Seckel
The 1-day Silvana Fair, initiated in 1947 to train local youth for bigger fairs and attract many participants and exhibitors, still draws a large number of exhibitors.
  • 1952 - Oran appeared at the fair.
  • 1969 - 1977 - Julie (Fjarlie) Seckel exhibited at the fair.
  • 2023 - Rowen Seckel performing for the first time.

From Stanwood to San Diego, and back again!

It's been, and continues to be an interesting journey. We've deeply honored and humbles by the adventures along the way.

Family Dairy Farm

Cows have been in the family since 1889 with a long-standing Stanwood, WA area community presence.

2020 - Moving North

World suggested to stay home so we packed out things and heading from San Diego to Camano Island.

Our process begins with the ethical treatment and milking of our Brown Swiss cows. Our cows are milked using machines that ensure gentle handling and minimal stress.

Immediate Cooling and Storage

Once the milk is collected, it is immediately cooled to a safe temperature to preserve its freshness and prevent bacterial growth.

Careful Bottling Practices

Sterilized glass bottles are designed to uphold the purity and taste of beverages, emphasizing a commitment to sustainability through reusable and eco-friendly packaging choices that contribute to a greener environment.

Rigorous Quality Testing

We regularly test our raw milk for bacterial counts, pathogens, and quality to guarantee its safety. Each batch is tested to meet our strict standards before being sold.
Eco-Friendly Packing & Distribution
Our bottled milk is packaged for local markets, ensuring maximum freshness. We prioritize local distribution to cut emissions and use eco-friendly packaging materials.

Direct-to-Consumer

We sell our raw milk directly to consumers through our farm store, local farmers' markets, and an online platform for home delivery.
